Yinarupa Nangala

Categories: Categorie 1 |

Nothing digital here, but many layers nonetheless, in this mysterious painting.  The Australian aboriginal artist Yinarupa Nangala painted this wonderful map/story/dream of the rockhole site of Mukala, east of Jupiter Well in Western Australia.  She won the Telestra Award in 2009 for the painting below. Did you know many well-known aboriginal women artists started painting at 80.  If you google Aboriginal women artists, you will spend hours looking at some of the most beautiful paintings out there.  I might add that many are very reasonably priced.  I plan to start a collection.
